Oh Suzanna

Molly was watching one of her videos when she started dancing and singing. Thought it was cute.

Green Street Fair

We went to the green street fair in Plymouth. As an example of reuse, they had a fun thing to do with bottle caps. Molly helped drill a few in to a mural.

We had an artist paint their hands and apply it to a painting.

Molly was very cooperative.

Megan was not.  She cried during the whole process.  At least we still got a cool drawing.

Happy Birthday Megan

It seem just yesterday that she was a newborn and now she's one year old.  The adventures continue...

Molly had fun in my parents' swing at the little party we had.

...almost as much fun as Megan had eating birthday cake.

Easter

It's Easter Bunny time and both Megan and Molly liked the visit:

Park

Now that it's starting to get nice out, we were able to make it out to the park. Molly loved this roller slide.

 It's super fast.

She's old enough for the big kid swing.

Megan in a tunnel.  It reminds me of when Molly was about her age...

More Gymnastics

Here's a few more gymnastics pictures.  It's getting towards the end of the classes when summer activities will take over.  Molly still does her own thing and Megan is enjoying it too.

Megan found a big ball.

Gymnastics

Here is a bunch of videos of Molly in gymnastics class.  Her strength, coordination, and her fearlessness is on display:

Detroit Science Center

Went out to the Detroit Science Center.  Molly had a good time interacting with all of the exhibits.  Sometimes it was tough to get her to move on to another thing.

They had a "jam session" area set up with musical instruments and flashing lights.

Molly could not get enough of playing the drums.

If you listen carefully to this (very short) video, she even has her foot on the kick drum pedal:

Walker

Her confidence level is way up.

Car Seat

We resisted as long as we could but the convenience of the baby carrier gave way to the big kid car seat.

Zoo

Uncle Dave, Aunt Sally, Greg, Lisa, and Kean were in town and wanted to visit the Detroit Zoo so we bundled up and headed out.

Molly made sure she had her cool shades on.

Megan looks pretty warm.

The gang.

Calvin had a great time...

But Megan could only take so much.

Calvin (and me) in the prairie dog bubble.

Molly looking at seals.

And really getting a kick out of it.

It was a fun day at the Zoo!  It was chilly but not freezing cold, there was a good number of animals that were out and active and the kids had a great time.

Just a few of the many things she is learning:

Balloons

They must know someone who's 40...

They love balloons!

Brushing Teeth

I'm not sure what song they were singing but I think that the original lyric is "Lather up" changed to "Brush-a-brush" and she is switching between the two.

Either way, cuteness ensues.

(for some reason the audio is off; not sure if it's a YouTube issue or my video software)

Megan and Barney

Megan likes to play with the dog.  She teases him by waving toys or her socks in his face.

Laughing Sisters

The sisters do love each other.  They like playing and laughing.

Big Sister

Molly is a great big sister.  When Megan is upset, she sings to her.  When Megan hurts herself, she says, "It's okay, Megan".

Here is a video of Molly making sure that Megan is comfortable.  Never mind that she almost dumps Megan out of the car seat at the end...

Bath Cutie

Megan loves her baths. She likes putting her hands in the running water and chasing the toys around the tub.

She was also all smiles for the camera.

St. Patrick's Day

Just getting ready for the celebration...

A Few More Steps

She is starting to get the hang of it. Almost...

Taking a Few Steps

Megan was an early crawler and it seems like it took a little while for her to start walking.  Here she is taking a few steps and being very proud of herself:

ABCs in Stereo

Ok, so I was going over some videos and this one of Molly singing the ABCs came on. Molly happened to notice this and started singing along with herself. Thankfully the video camera was nearby!

It was Colleen's birthday, hence the balloons and greeting card in the background. Happy birthday Colleen!

Teething Biscuits

Sara,

You gave these treats to Colleen saying that they were messy to eat.  You did not prepare us for the nightmare of gooey paste that would cover everything, including Megan.

Glad to take these off your hands, but why would anyone make such a product?

Gymnastics

Here's Molly in gymnastics class (yes, my little girl is in gymnastics class!).

There is 10 minutes of structured activity at the beginning that Molly isn't really interested in. The rest of the time is free play which she really takes advantage of:

Molly's Bed

Megan is standing and climbing like a pro. She will be walking in no time. She likes to climb up into Molly's bed and often they will play together there.

Potty

Molly made a pretty smooth transition to potty trained. There's still work to do, but "I have to go potty" is a familiar refrain around here.

Snow

Molly having fun in the snow. Mostly she wanted to taste it. The funny thing about this video is when she says, "I have to go potty" at the end. It took Colleen 20 minutes to dress her for the cold and five minutes for Molly to want to reverse the process.
