Zoo Boo 2010

We went back to Zoo Boo.  Molly doesn't quite get the whole trick-or-treat concept yet, but she had a great time running around with Calvin and the Armstrong kids.

Molly likes to climb into things and she fit perfectly in this little box.

Hilton Fall Festival

Ferndale had a fall activity on Hilton road.  The businesses there were giving out candy and there were activities for the kids to enjoy.

Megan was along for a ride.

Megan is scooting around pretty good now.  She's very determined to get to where she needs to be.

Hay Bale Maze

The zoo was having a fall festival and Molly just loved running around the hay bale maze they had set up.








We did walk around and look at animals, but she had the most fun here.

As with all good things, they come to an end.  Molly was not too happy about that.

All Smiles

Megan is always smiling and laughing.  Especially when her sister is around.

Big Kid Bed

I was sitting on the couch one night after Molly went to bed.  After hearing noises from her room I wondered what toys she had in her crib.  I opened the door to discover that she had climbed out of her crib and was happily playing on the floor.

After Colleen had a few similar experiences, we decided it was time to convert her crib to a day bed.

She likes it a lot.  She enjoys being able to climb in and out of her bed at will.

Holding Hands

Colleen and Kathy took the kids to the zoo.  I can only imagine their reaction when this was happening.

Happy Birthday Gigi

Gigi loves her great-grandkids and to have them all on the couch together was a nice treat. Sally brought her grandson, Kean who was also in the mix.

Molly and Calvin got gift bags from Kean and were having fun blowing into these straws that made a whistling noise.

Almost Crawling

We know Megan is very strong. The way she pushes off with her feet surprises a lot of people. Colleen knows all too well how powerful her grip is when she grabs a handful of hair.

Now she is getting up on her knees to figure out how to crawl.

Yates Cider Mill

Here's a few pictures from our trip to Yates Cider Mill with Karen and Ken.  The full set can be seen here.

What I will say about the trip is that Molly had a blast.  She did not stop running around to look at everything they had there.

She loves apples, so to see so many was pretty amazing.

She got a kick out of the animals they had there.  She would crack up at the goats when they were butting heads.

She really wore herself out.

Aunt Karen was pretty wiped out too ;)

Smiley Baby

New Family Member

My sister's baby, Shane, was born this morning.  My parents are in California to be there for the birth and to help out for a few weeks.  Congratulations Kathy and Tyler!

Rice Cereal

Megan has started with rice cereal. She's pretty good at it too.

Of course Molly is always willing to help.

Gigi

Molly, Megan, and Calvin went to go visit their great-grandmother.  She is at her happiest when the kids are running around her house.  I think the kids are happiest when they are around each other too.

Cheerleader

Football season is upon us and Molly is very excited.  Too bad the Lions found a way to lose their first game after being in the lead for most of it.

Twinkle Twinkle

Molly is really starting to get the hang of this song.  The words aren't quite there but the syllables are.  It's amazing to see her brain develop so quickly.

Enjoying Her Crib

Megan was a car seat sleeper for a long time. She still does not take a pacifier so it was difficult for her to soothe herself into sleeping flat.  About a month ago she finally started sleeping in her crib much to the relief of her parents.

Molly usually sits in her chair when she has her goldfish snack.  Even though the chair was being cleaned, she sat in the same spot anyway.  She's a creature of habit I guess.

Arts Beats and Eats

We went to downtown Royal Oak to check out the Arts Beats and Eats festival.  All I can say is, "What were we thinking?"







Trying to push a stroller and corral a curious and adventurous child through such a dense crowd was miserable.

We did manage to watch a few bands and try some food, but we'll wait until Royal Oak works out the kinks of the festival and for the kids to get a little older before we try that again!

Jersey Girls

A couple of Jersey Girls were in town for a visit.  Aimee and Bizzy thought it was a good time for an impromptu visit.

The last time I saw AJ (Bizzy's son) he was not quite walking yet.  Now he's running around with Molly.

We went to the zoo on one of the hottest days of the year.  It wasn't too bad in the morning, but by the time noon rolled around it was 85º and time to go.

We spent a lot of time in the polar bear and penguin exhibits since it's nice and cool there.

It was great to have family in town since we all like to get together for food, games and just hanging out together.
